Anyone who is part of the booby committee knows how difficult it is to find a sports bra that fits you well. I, for one, have spent countless hours perusing department store aisles and online stores that often come up short. You may think that small breasts equate to easier compression, but that’s simply not the case. The bras I find are often too big or don’t provide enough support, and as someone who does high-intensity workouts, runs, and jump ropes 4 or 5 times a week (ugh, I know), I need one that hugs me and keep my chest safe. Of all the sports bras I’ve worn, the Reebok Lux Strappy Bra ($40) is the one that wowed me enough to make it my workout choice. It’s compressive enough for small chests like mine, never bagging or bunching up when I need it to stay in place.
What separates the Lux Strappy Bra from the competitors in my drawer is the material and the fit. Made from recycled polyester and elastane, the bra offers a compressive yet non-restrictive fit that wicks away sweat and moisture, keeping my breasts dry even in the sweatiest of times. It doesn’t bulge at the waist like other sports bras often do – it rests flesh against my ribcage and the rest of my chest to keep everything in place.
For a more snug fit, like during burpees or sprints, I can easily adjust the back straps, which keeps my girls locked in. Although not underwired, the Lux Strappy offers medium support and doesn’t dig into my skin like other bras. . As a smaller-breasted girl, it can be hard to find a bra that’s flattering and prevents slipping off the neckline, but this one does both thanks to the subtle V-neckline.
The bra comes in black and has a simple design (all-over Reebok logo branding), making it a timeless and affordable piece of sportswear that will never go out of style. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it goes well with literally all my sweatpants: modern tennis skirts, classic high-waisted leggings, comfy biker shorts and all. When it’s hot, I can wear it alone and not worry about slipping or straps slipping down. Or, I can easily layer it under tank tops, t-shirts, and hoodies when I want a little more coverage. It’s simple, sophisticated and supportive, just like any sports bra should be.
One caveat to note is that the bra is only available up to size XL, unfortunately excluding some shoppers with larger chests or those who prefer it to match their exact cup size. But if you’re on the smaller side like me, and comfortable in your normal top size, you’re in luck: the Reebok Lux Strappy Bra is available in sizes S-2XS.
I have been testing the bra for several months and it is arguably one of the most supportive bras in my gym rotation. My little boobies are very happy during all my workouts, jumping rope and all. If you’ve been looking for a flattering sports bra suitable for smaller breasts, look no further than the Reebok Lux Strappy Bra. It’s a game changer.
