When you’re sweating, things down there can become questionable and stinky! and embarrassing!—very quickly. Throw in a surprise arrival of your period, a leaky bladder, a tampon that needs to be changed, or a particularly high day, and you’ve got a seriously boggy crotch on your hands. We have all been there.

Knix to the rescue! The underwear brand, known for its period-friendly designs, recently launched a line of leak-proof leggings, shorts and culottes that promise protection when you move and play. I’m already a fan of the brand’s Leakproof period underwear, which recently helped me survive 17 hours on a plane on the first day of my period without a menstrual cup or tampon in sight. So, with high hopes, I tried this collection. Spoiler alert: it did not disappoint.

According to Knix, up to 70 percent of women avoid exercise or movement due to leaks. Whether it’s blood, sweat, or urine, it’s uncomfortable, often has an unpleasant odor, and can distract you from getting your best self in whatever Peloton class you’re taking. That’s where the Leakproof Collection comes in handy. Leggings, shorts, and skorts are made to feel light (they are), dry quickly (they do), and fight bacteria (I trust them on this part). Thanks to a discreet gusset, the tights and shorts absorb up to six teaspoons of liquid, the equivalent of five tampons, while the skort absorbs up to three teaspoons of liquid, enough to keep you dry for a few games on the pitch.

I took a pair of tights and shorts and put them to the test in a variety of situations: I took them for a hike on a 90-degree day, I put them on for a resistance band class at The Dogpound that left me sore for days, i lay on the couch with them on, and even used them for free flowing yoga on a light day of my period. In every situation, they left me high and dry in the best possible way.

The first few times you put on Leakproof tights or shorts, there’s no denying there’s something extra between your legs. However, they are nothing like a diaper and within a few minutes of wearing them you will forget about the booster altogether. It is thin enough and there are no visible seams from the outside, so you can be sure that no one will suspect anything. Yes, you can wear them without underwear. No, you won’t feel weird about it: they’re so like a second skin that you won’t even notice.

And that absorbent booster Really plays. It kept me dry and comfortable, even when things got super humid mid-hike or in gym class. The rest of the design is top-notch, too, thanks to flexible 4-way stretch that moves with you and quick-drying charcoal cotton fabric that keeps you comfortable, even during the sweatiest moments. And, let’s not forget: pockets! Each piece in this collection features dual mesh pockets, so you have a safe and convenient place to stash your phone, keys, credit card, you name it, while you’re out and about.

While I did select and fit my normal size, the high-rise, thick supportive waistband means serious business. It’s built to stay in place, and it did what it promised during all of my workouts, but that means it’s likely to be less stretchy than other tights in your closet. It’s still flexible, but if you’re between sizes, consider a size up.

The tights, shorts and skort are available in sizes XS to 4XL, but you’d better add them to your cart quickly as some sizes are running out. For a seriously cute look from head to toe, pair the leak-proof pants with one of Knix’s matching supportive sports bras. Both The Catalyst ($89) and Momenta ($60) sports bras come in the same colors as the bottoms, so you can mix and match without compromising support.

After a sweat session, simply toss your outfit in the washing machine. Each item in the collection is machine washable in cold water. As with all sports clothing, washing it right away is the best option to kill the bacteria that makes your clothes smell bad. (Ever leave your hot yoga outfit in your hamper for too long? Phew.) To make sure your leak-proof items stay in their best shape, keep them out of the dryer and hang them up to dry. Their quick-drying ability means you won’t have to wait all day for them to dry, and instead can put them back on almost immediately for another round of workouts.

Whether you’re looking for a pair of tights (or shorts or a skort) to go with your sweatiest workout sessions or just as a backup during your period, you couldn’t be a bigger fan of Knix’s new Leakproof collection. It kept me dry and confident in all kinds of boggy situations. Add a pair of two to your wardrobe and you’ll stay comfy too, to hell with your period, sweat, discharge, and bladder leaks.
